Since the stabbing incident occurred last week, there have been many details that have emerged. However, there hasn’t been up to this point a reason why it all began. In a recent interview with The Taz Show, Del Rio finally brought clarity as to what started it.
“I’m fine. It was one of those situations where I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. [It was] an incident with somebody who disrespected my girl. And, of course, I had to do something. And then, the rest is history. Now, we’re good. Like I said, with that [situation] behind [us], we are [ready] for bigger and better things.”
These comments cement that Paige was indeed present during the situation. It’s just something that quickly got out of hand with two men that lost their tempers and led to an unfortunate result. Luckily, Del Rio was able to disarm the attacker before things could have escalated to much worse circumstances.
The 39-year-old is hoping to put this ugly incident behind him and focus on resuming his professional wrestling career. He has a few scheduled matches coming up with What Culture Professional Wrestling and possibly Lucha Libre AAA World Wide. Hopefully, this is the last time that something like this occurs to Del Rio or another professional wrestler in the business.
