Through his first five years in the NBA, Anthony Davis has established himself as one of the league’s most talented players. He has become a constant stat stuffer on a daily basis for the New Orleans Pelicans. During Monday’s win against the New York Knicks, Davis broke another NBA record.
Pelicans center Anthony Davis is the first player with 40 points and 15 rebounds in less than 30 minutes in the shot-clock era (since 1954-55) (via Elias Sports Bureau).
Stat lines like this from Davis have become a normalcy from him, especially this season. He is currently one of the league’s leading scorers averaging 29.9 points with 12.2 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. He leads the NBA with ten 30-point, 15-rebound games, and has four 40-point outings.
Davis has shown that he can be a perennial MVP candidate and one of the best players in the league, but injuries have plagued him. Following that performance, there was some level of concern regarding the hip injury he suffered. If he can get past the injury bug once and for all, Davis has a chance to go down as one of the best players of all-time.
