Ezekiel Elliott rushed for two touchdowns, Dak Prescott threw for one and ran for another, and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins 31-26 on Thanksgiving to improve to 10-1. Kirk Cousins completed 41 of 53 passes for 449 yards and three TDs, including two to tight end Jordan Reed, who returned from a first-half injury to help keep it close.

But while Prescott wasn’t as prolific, finishing 17 of 24 for 195 yards, he turned in another poised performance and the Cowboys didn’t turn the ball over as they extended their franchise-record winning streak to 10.

Elliott had 97 yards on 20 carries, with 43 coming on the opening drive, to give him a league-leading 1,199 for the season.

The Redskins (6-4-1) got swept by their NFC East rival, and the defending division champions fell 3 1/2 games behind Dallas with five games left after their seventh Thanksgiving loss to the Cowboys in eight tries. Washington gets the 10-day break before the second of three straight road games in Arizona on Dec. 4. For Dallas, it’ll be a “regular” seven-day week with a visit to Minnesota next Thursday.
