Throughout his two terms as the president of the United States, Barack Obama has involved with the NBA. During this time, he has made predictions for each champion. According to a recent interview with SiriusXM’s “Sway in the Morning,” Obama didn’t exactly create headlines with his pick for this year’s champion.
“I’m going to go with the Warriors just because of [Kevin] Durant, that addition. I think they just have too much firepower,” Obama said. “Although they just got spanked in their first game, so it will take a while to figure things out.”
The Golden State Warriors have been the choice for many because of the addition of Kevin Durant to the mix alongside three other All-Stars. The Warriors have added arguably the second-best player in the league to the mix on a team that broke the record for most wins in a regular season. It has made them the overwhelming betting odds favorite to win the title.
However, Golden State hasn’t exactly gotten off to a strong start to the season. Their biggest issue through the first three games has been the lack of interior defense with no true rim protector. That said, this something that the Warriors should be able to adjust to and possibly acquire one as the season wears on.
