Bizzare Officiating Mishap Forces Kings, Pelicans To Replay Part Of Their Game

Though it certainly got overshadowed by the election, last night’s game between the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans featured the most bizarre moment of the season so far.

When the game came back from half time, the officials didn’t start the third quarter. Instead, they put 18.9 seconds on the clock for the second quarter and had the teams re-play it. A foul late in the second quarter from Solomon Hill should have put the Kings in bonus and sent Boogie to the line. But the referees lost count and didn’t send him to the line. A basket made by E’Twaun Moore was nullified and Boogie got to take his free throws. He made both, changing the half time score from the original 51-48 to 53-46.

It wasn’t the strangest event of the night for America, but it was the strangest for the NBA.
