Despite a pair of failed drug tests putting a cloud over his UFC 200 fight, Brock Lesnar looked dominant in the octagon. If given the chance, he has clearly shown that he could still be a force in the MMA world. In light of that, current TNA superstar Bobby Lashley voiced to TMZ Sports that he could get one over the former UFC light heavyweight champion.
“I get into fights where I know that my hand is going to get raised, and that’s one that I feel confident on,” Lashley said. “But if you asked [Lesnar] the same thing, he’s not going to go, ‘oh, Bobby is going to win.’ And I’m not going to go, ‘oh Brock would win.’ So of course I see my hand being raised anytime when I fight.”
Lashley is an extremely confident fighter right now given that he’s coming off another strong showing defeating Josh Appelt with a rear-naked chokehold submission. The 40-year-old has had a successful MMA career holding a 15-2 record, including winning his last seven fights. It doesn’t come as a surprise to see him openly step up to a challenge against Lesnar.
That said, there is still a lot that would have to first be worked out in order to make it happen. Lesnar is still facing a lengthy suspension from the UFC, which would mean other MMA business could be fearful of adding him to the mix. If that all somehow gets sorted out, then a potential fight between these two physical specimens could be in store.
