It has been an often frustrating process over last several months for Chris Bosh with his NBA career in jeopardy because of the appearance of a second blood clot. Many are still fearful that he could be risking his life if he continues to play. In light of that, Bosh recently revealed the true reason why he wants to continue his career.
“I want my children to know that daddy was a fighter and he just didn’t give up very easily. What I would say to the people who just see the money and kind of see my situation and say, ‘Hey, just walk away,’ I get it. I totally get it. I understand you. I hear you. But I’m not really thinking about money. I’m just thinking about where my heart is. I love the NBA. I love playing basketball every day for a living.”
There is no questioning the heart and determination that Bosh has to continue playing in the NBA. This now has a deeper more personal connection. He has more than enough motivation to show his kids that you can achieve anything even if there are doubters.
However, if doctors continue to state it would be a huge health risk to play then it’s completely out of his hands. There’s no shame in that as he would have put his best foot forward with a concerted effort that his he and his family can be quite proud of. Hopefully, Bosh can return to playing basketball without any more health risks or setbacks.
