Chris Jericho has had a well-decorated career that has seen him lay claim to just about every title in the WWE. This list only grew larger with his first win of the United States championship. According to Wrestling Inc., this accomplishment put him in rare company in WWE history.
As noted, Chris Jericho became the WWE United States Champion for the first time ever on tonight’s RAW after he and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens defeated Roman Reigns in a Handicap Match. Jericho is now the 7th Superstar to hold the US Title, the Intercontinental Title, a Tag Team Title and the WWE Title in his career. Other Grand Slam Champions under the current format include Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Big Show, The Miz and Daniel Bryan.
This is quite a formidable list that features many Hall of Famers or future Hall of Famers. Jericho is also considered by many to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time that has continued to remain relevant in the business. He has one developed into a great heel with his strong work on the microphone in the last several months.
Jericho has shown the rare ability to adapt with the times with his ever-changing character. That said, he appears to be entering the final stages of his career with his band Fozzy set to go on tour after WrestleMania 33. Regardless of what transpires over the next few months, Jericho has further cemented a WWE Hall of Fame worthy career.
