With the league salary cap continuing to rise, the Dallas Mavericks clearly won’t be the only organization going after Cousins in free agency. It’s safe to suggest that there will be more than a handful of franchises looking to acquire him as he’s one of the best big men in the league. This will likely mean that it will take a monstrous contract to at least get serious consideration from him.
As for the Mavericks, the addition of Cousins could make him the new face of the franchise. Dirk Nowitzki would be finishing the last year of his two-year deal making him an unrestricted free agent after his 20th season in the league. The push for Cousins 0r another player of his caliber will be tremendous from the front office.
