On Wednesday, Derrick Rose and his two friends Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen finally found out the verdict in their high profile civil rape case. The Los Angeles federal jury that heard the case reached a unanimous decision of not guilty, clearing him of all charges.
Both parties made nasty claims about each other in what was an unpleasant case all around. Ultimately, the jury found too many holes in the accuser’s story and found enough validity in Derrick Rose’s claims of consent. The decision took three hours for the jury to reach.
Rose will now be free to focus on the upcoming season and the new chapter of his career in New York. Carmelo Anthony, who has asked Derrick Rose to “hurry up” and get back to practice, should be pleased.
