Despite Adding Kevin Durant, Warriors Ticket Values Are Dropping

While the Warriors have become what is undoubtably one of the strongest teams in the history of the NBA, the price for tickets to see them play actually falling. For the first time since the beginning of the 2014-2015 season, resale prices for Warriors tickets have actually decreased.

TicketIQ, an aggregator that combines primary and secondary market listings, put together some interesting data on the subject. They found that this season, a resale ticket to a Warriors game averages out to $405.95 a game, over 41 games at the Oracle Stadium. That’s 20% less than last season, when tickets went for $506.96 a game.

It’s a strange development. If anything, the Warriors have become an even greater team and should attract more fans who want to see them play in person. Instead, prices are dropping, and dropping pretty substantially. Of course, just 3 years ago, Warriors tickets averaged $126 a game, so they’re still doing pretty well these days.
