When fans first heard the news that Reggie Jackson would be out for surgery, they were worried that he’d be gone for a long time. Early reports indicated that he’d miss at least 8 weeks.
Now those worries have been put to rest, thanks to a new update on his surgery. He’ll receive a platelet rich plasma injection, a surgery that will only keep him sidelined for 4-6 weeks.
Reggie Jackson update: likely 4-6 weeks before he can be cleared for basketball activity. Late-Nov. return optimistic, early-Dec. likely.

The 26-year-old was a vital part of the team last year, averaging 18.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game last season. He’s now entering the second season of a five-year, $80 million deal he signed with Detroit last summer.
in the meantime, the Pistons will roll with recent signing Ish Smith at point guard. He’s got the drive and kick abilities of Jackson, but lacks the shooting to talent.
