With the Los Angeles Clippers leading the league and the Brooklyn Nets solidly near the bottom, most anticipated a snoozer in Tuesday night’s match up. Instead we were treated to a thrilling double overtime battle that saw the Nets emerge victorious 127-122.
To add insult to injury, the Clippers not only lost the game but also their head coach. During the first period of overtime, Doc Rivers picked up a technical foul for leaving the coaches box to argue with a ref.
That should have been the end of it, but the technical foul only enraged Doc Rivers further. He lost control and it took DeAndre Jordan and an assistant coach Sam Cassell to restrain him. He was immediately ejected.
Emotions were high, but Rivers should have controlled himself better at such a crucial moment. The Clippers managed to tie the game up and force a second overtime period, but without their coach they ultimately lost the game.
