It is no surprise that the matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder is shaping up to be the most hyped game of the year so far. Kevin Durant’s departure from OKC left the fanbase and Russell Westbrook feeling upset and betrayed. These sentiments are not lost on Durant’s new teammate, Draymond Green.
Green understands the feelings on both sides and had this to say about the game:
“I think it’ll be a lot of emotions. They’re going to want to beat him really bad. He’s going to want to beat them really bad. In turn, we’re going to want to beat them really bad because we want him to beat them really bad.”
While that may seem like a tongue twister, one thing is clear: Green knows how much this game means for Durant. The Warriors are under the most scrutiny of any NBA team this year and Durant is now the most talked about player on the team. It is good to see that his new teammates understand what the move to Golden State has meant for him and that they have his back.
