If there’s one thing that every basketball fan has been waiting for this summer, it’s the chance to see the new Kevin Durant Warriors team play. Some look forward to it, some dread it, but everyone will be paying attention to it.
Everyone but Dwight Howard, that is. The Hawks new star center doesn’t seem to care at all about the new Warriors team, to the point where he can’t even name the roster.
“Well, to be honest with you, I haven’t even looked at Golden State,” Howard said in an interview on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
“That’s the honest-to-God truth. I’m happy for K.D. I know a lot of people have been killing him for leaving and going to Golden State, but hey man, he looks happy out there. I did have a chance to, I went to the bowling alley and I saw the first half of their game against the Clippers, and he looks happy. He’s in a great situation for himself. But I haven’t really had a chance to really sit down, I don’t really know who’s on their team. I just glanced on the game for a couple minutes.”
While some Hawks fans might worry that Dwight isn’t properly scoping out the competition, he’s likely just focused on working on his own game. The Hawks only face the Warriors twice this season, and the first meeting doesn’t come until a month into the season, so he’ll have plenty of time to get acquainted with the roster by then.
