Since Goldberg made his return to the WWE in nearly 13 years, there has been much attention being paid to the business. It has become a much larger draw when he has made an appearance on the program. In a recent interview with Complex.com, Goldberg revealed the one quality that he believes the WWE is currently lacking.
“I haven’t been around long enough to give it a good opinion. AJ Styles is a heck of a kid. Roman Reigns is a heck of a kid. There’s a lot of people with a lot of talent there, and I really don’t know because I haven’t been there long enough to pass proper judgment. They need intensity, that’s for sure. They need some realism. I think that’s why I was well received.”
There is indeed a tremendous amount of talent in the company, but many times it’s hard to take them seriously. The intensity that Goldberg portrays in his on-air character has helped him cut some outstanding promos for his mega match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. The current group of stars don’t necessarily use that same level of intensity when promoting matches or feuds.
This is something that the Attitude Era fed off to create intriguing storylines and many classic matches in the process. If the current generation of superstars can use that more, it could go a long ways in creating a more realistic atmosphere around the company. The return of Goldberg could been in a blessing in disguise for the company in that regard moving forward.
