Goldberg shocked the wrestling world with a dominating win over Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series this past weekend. It was something that has shifted the attention toward his future with the business. In an interview with ESPN.com, Goldberg discussed his plans for his tenure moving forward.
“I’m only as good as my next appearance and my next match. I’m concentrating on the Royal Rumble and that’s it. I don’t have any plans of doing anything afterwards. My focus is on the 29 other men that I’m going to have to crucify to win that damn match.”
Although there are reports that suggest he could be involved at WrestleMania 33, Goldberg has stayed focused on the task at hand. This was the case prior to his match at Survivor Series where he wasn’t looking past Lesnar. It appears it’s a one step at a time process for Goldberg with the WWE.
The more pressing question will be if he can get the job done at the Royal Rumble. It will certainly ramp up the interest level in the event with him in the mix. What Goldberg has done is brought back some of the old flare that the company has been missing.
