Earlier this year, Shaquille O’Neal received the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. This set the stage for several accolades heading his way. According to the Miami Heat, the team is set to retire O’Neal’s jersey in December.

O’Neal will be just the third former Heat player to earn this honor with the franchise joining Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway. He led the organization to much success in his tenure winning their first NBA title along with earning three All-Star game selections. He helped lift the franchise to its greatest heights.
This is a much deserved honor for one of the greatest players to play the game. During his prime, he was arguably the most dominant player made a tremendous impact on the game. All in all, the Heat are finally making the right move. Next will be Dwyane Wade down the line.
