It has been several weeks since John Cena has made an appearance in the ring with the WWE. He has been away due to his involvement in the filming of the second season of “American Grit.” According to Wrestling Inc., it appears that his return match has already been setu p for December 26th SmackDown live event at Madison Square Garden.

This would bring Cena back for one of the biggest shows of the year in his return. It could set the stage for the possibility of him getting his record-tying 16th world championship. In fact, it has been several months since Cena held any major title on the program.
His return would help bring back more buzz to Smackdown Live, which hasn’t exactly taken off in the ratings since the brand split draft. Cena’s presence at least will have fans tuning in each week to see what happens with him. All in all, the 39-year-old’s comeback will be much welcomed by the WWE.
