Thursday night’s matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder was hyped up as a showdown between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. However, only one of the two former teammates really wowed those watching. Durant scored 39 points and tied his career high with seven 3-pointers. Westbrook, on the other hand, scored just 20 points on 4-15 shooting.
Despite the media’s focus on the Westbrook vs Durant “feud”, the real verbal altercation came from elsewhere. While lining up for a pair of free throws, Durant got into a back and forth with former teammate Enes Kanter who was sitting on the bench. Watch what Durant had to say about the interaction below:

It seems that Durant is embracing his role as the villain of the NBA. Following a loss in their opening game, the warriors, and specifically Durant, have looked red hot. There won’t be much of a rivalry between the Thunder and Warriors if the coming games end up as one sided as this one.
