The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to a quick start of the gate standing atop of the Eastern Conference. A major part of that has been the play of Kevin Love. In Wednesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Love broke an impressive record in the first quarter scoring 34 points.

It was also a Cavaliers’ record for any quarter, which he made 11 of 14 field goal attempts while also knocking down a career-high eight 3-pointers on 10 shots in the period. He also outscored the Trail Blazers 34-31 in the period that Cleveland scored 46 points. This was just three points short of tying the NBA record for any quarter set by Klay Thompson.
Love is in the midst of a strong start to the season averaging a double-double with 21.8 points and 10.8 rebounds. He has seven games scoring 20 or more points while registering nine double-doubles. All in all, this was quite a memorable performance.
