Throughout his illustrious NBA career has developed the reputations as being one of the most knowledgeable players in the league. This has in many ways made him an extension of a coach on the floor at times. According to Chris Walder of The Score, James has made it clear he has no intention of expanding on that when is career is done.
No. No, no. I don’t have the patience. I can’t even coach my own son’s team, so I know I couldn’t coach some guys that I don’t know. Can’t do it.”
The duties of head coach require much patience that could get tested on many occasions. That said, being a head coach hasn’t worked out for many of the game’s past greats. Along those same lines, Kobe Bryant also stated that he didn’t believe he could handle being a head coach for the same reason.
That said, James has already set himself up for his life post-NBA. He has a lifetime contract with Nike that will bring him in more than $1 billion. Regardless of what he does down the road after his career, James will have no worries about his cash flow.
