Russell Westbrook has been having an absolutely insane year so far. It seems that the departure of Kevin Durant in the offseason has sparked something in the young Thunder point guard. He just recently tied Lebron James on the all time triple double list despite playing almost 400 games less.
All of this is shaping up to be a potentially MVP winning season for Westbrook. After yesterday’s game against the New York Knicks, Russell Westbrook now has this insane stat: he is averaging a triple double for the season.
The only player to ever average a triple double in a season was NBA legend Oscar Robertson. It seems as if Westbrook is looking to become the second player. It would arguably be even more impressive for Westbrook to do it in the modern NBA.
