Yesterday, President Obama held the last Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony of his tenure in the White House. He awarded the medal to 21 civilians from various fields, including the greatest American athlete of all time, Michael Jordan.
It was a day of celebration and fun, and Obama set the mood accordingly with lots of jokes. He took a shot at Jordan over the Crying Jordan meme, and even called him “that character actor from Space Jam.”

But at the end of it all, Obama showed love for his Chicago legend, and explained that there is a reason we say someone is the “Michael Jordan of something.” He’s a model for greatness, something everyone can aspire to.
