This is the right move to make to end his illustrious career given everything that he accomplished in a Celtics uniform. During his tenure with the team fact that includes holding and setting various Celtics records, 10 All-Star Game selections, an NBA Championship, and an NBA Finals MVP award. The 2008 championship was monumental as it ended a 22-year drought for the city.
Pierce will have many honors come his way once he retires that will include his jersey being retired and an induction to the Hall of Fame. He was a franchise-changing player that marked his place in Celtics history. All in all, this just puts a cherry on top of his NBA career.
