The New Orleans Pelicans are off to yet another slow start to the season that has them quickly headed in the wrong direction. They currently sitting well out of the playoff picture at a 1-8 record. However, it appears that New Orleans could have some much-needed help returning shortly.
Jrue Holiday’s return to the Pelicans is imminent, league sources tell @TheVertical. He’s planning to make his season debut next week.

Holiday has been away from the team for the last several weeks as he took care of his wife, who underwent brain surgery to remove a brain tumor, and tend to their newborn child. With his family now in a better spot than they were a couple of months ago, the 26-year-old is set to return to the court. Upon his return, he should resume his starting point guard duties that will play a huge part in helping All-Star forward Anthony Davis.
He has been more than a serviceable point guard for the Pelicans as he averaged 16.8 points and 6.0 assists last season. Although New Orleans is in a rough spot, it’s still early in the year giving them enough time to turn it around. All in all, it’s encouraging to hear that Holiday’s family is doing better.
