NBA pre season games are rarely a time for excitement. They’re a chance for players to work on team chemistry, for coaches to try new schemes and game plans, and for fans to check out new signings and draft picks. The games aren’t particularly good and no one gives it their all because they don’t want to get injured during an inconsequential game.
But apparently Russell Westbrook and Marc Gasol didn’t get that memo. They both treated the game like it was a playoff game when they faced off last night, getting into a huge argument that turned into a shoving match.
Both players received a technical foul. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed and broke up the fight before things got serious. After the game, Westbrook defended his actions.
