In the last several weeks, Randy Orton has seen his storyline with the WWE transform. He has now become an unofficial member of the Wyatt Family. According to PWMania.com, Orton could be headed toward some little-traveled ground in his professional wrestling career.
As previously reported, Randy Orton was given the week off from WWE programming and weekend Live Events because of the birth of his daughter.
The promo that aired on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live was recorded at Survivor Series because they knew he would not be at SmackDown this week. This is also the reason why Wyatt and Orton didn’t compete in the tag-team turmoil match to earn a shot at the tag titles.
Orton and Wyatt are scheduled to face the American Alpha on next week’s SmackDown Live episode. It’s rumored that Orton and Wyatt will defeat American Alpha and move on to face Heath Slater and Rhyno at the TLC event.
It has been over a decade since Orton was last seriously in the tag-team title picture. He had held the World Tag Team titles once alongside Edge for nearly three months. Now that he’s intertwined with Bray Wyatt, this could be the next chapter in that storyline.
With Orton now associated with the Wyatt Family, it has finally given Bray some credibility. For awhile, he had fallen astray with his struggles at pay-per-view events that led many wrestling fans to not take him seriously. If he can win the tag-team titles with Orton, it could be huge in helping solidify his status in the business.
