Donald Trump won the American presidency on Tuesday, and a lot of NBA players weren’t happy. Many players endorsed Hillary Clinton’s campaign during the run up to the election, and many more expressed disappointment after.
But where many see sorrow, Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri sees opportunity. He thinks that Trump’s presidency will make the Canadian team the most attractive destination for players in free agency. Via Neil Davison of the Canadian Press:
I want to thank Donald Trump for making Toronto an unbelievable sports destination.
Canada’s immigration website crashed on Tuesday after the election results, so clearly people that aren’t happy about the results are interested in moving. Whether it will sway any players decisions in free agency remains to be seen.
