Since the Payback pay-per-view event last year, Seth Rollins has been using the pedigree as his finisher. It has been the finishing move for almost all of Triple H career. In a recent Facebook Q & A, Rollins revealed why he still uses the move.
“Look, the reason I did the Pedigree to begin with was as a tribute to Triple H. So now, every single time I deliver a pedigree it’s me sticking my fist up in the air and telling him to stick it up his rear end. He thinks he can stick it to me by anointing Kevin Owens as the new guy? There is no replacement for Seth Rollins. So every single Pedigree from now until I drop Triple H on his big, stupid nose, that’s gonna mean something. That’s me sticking it to the man, sticking it to Triple H. So no, no new finisher, not until I’m done with Triple H.”
His response falls directly in line with the storyline that is in place with Rollins still fuming about Triple H double crossing him. The move clearly has more meaning, especially after what transpired in that fatal four way match on the first Raw after SummerSlam. It’s likely going to be a move that he sticks with all the through to a possible revenge match at WrestleMania 33.
The use of the Pedigree is perfect for the storyline as he is viewed as the protege of the Triple H after he turned on the other Shield members. At some point and time, all of this will help become a face in the business once he eventually lays claim to the WWE Universal title in the near future. There will likely be another intriguing turn of events that will involve both Rollins and Triple H.
