A few months ago, UFC star fighter Conor McGregor took a few blatant shots at the WWE calling their wrestlers wussies in a cleaner sense of describing his statement. That didn’t exactly sit well with many former and current superstars who lashed back at McGregor. In response to that, Sheamus a very interesting answer, according to Sportskeeda.
“As far as I know he’s still going to be fighting for a really long time. I mean there’s a Cruiserweight Division now, so maybe McGregor can join the Cruiserweight Division. But I really don’t know… it’s really up to him. He’s obviously got a lot of charisma, I don’t know… if Vince McMahon feels that there’s an opportunity to make money he’ll be here.”
Sheamus has obviously brushed aside McGregor’s comments and sees a future in the WWE for him once he’s done with MMA. Many have of his colleagues have made the assertion that McGregor has the characteristics that are needed in the professional wrestling business. He will have to clean up his a language a bit, but he certainly has what it takes to be a huge superstar with the WW.
That said, it’s highly unlikely that McGregor would consider making the jump to the WWE under any circumstance. Vince McMahon may be willing to take a chance on him but that would on be the basis that he’s interested. All in all, Sheamus has clearly taken no offense to McGregor’s verbal attack on the WWE.
