Over the last several years, the Rock has seen his career away from the ring grow to astronomical heights. He has been involved in numerous projects that only vastly grown expanded his personal brand. According to Variety, the Brahma Bull is set to launch a new comedy tv series.
Fox has nabbed a hot comedy from the wrestler-turned-superstar and producer Will Ferrell, inspired by the real-life experiences of Johnson and former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz, Variety has learned.
This new show comes from his Seven Bucks Productions and Will Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions. It will be the first time that the Rock has ventured in this type of work. That said, it falls directly into the avenue of his latest work with his one Youtube Channel that relies heavily on comedy.
The series is expected offer a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional professional wrestler while documenting the relationship between the character molded like the Rock and a writer for the wrestling program. It will provide an interesting take on what the Rock experienced in his early days in the ring. There are obviously still a lot of moving pieces to the format of the show.
