The Kings are putting together what looks to be another awful season in a long line of awful seasons. The high point of their season thus far has been when the officials screwed up the end of their game against the Raptors and handed the Kings a free win.
DeMarcus Cousins, the 2 time All Star center, is one of the few things the team has going for it, and from the looks of it, he’ll be going for the door soon. He’s made it clear he doesn’t intend to re-sign with the franchise due to instability in the franchise caused by a coaching carousel and a conflicting group of minority share holders who can’t agree on the future of the franchise. Now apparently the staff is getting sick of Boogie, who has apparently become a huge distraction. Via ESPN’s Marc Stein:
“I’ve had a couple of guys from other teams tell me they’re starting to hear the Kings are starting to get sick of Cousins. No one knows who’s making the decisions from the ownership level, not who’s making the decisions, but there’s just so many voices among ownership. They have a million minority owners. Vlade (Divac) and Ken Catanella; there’s just a lot of voices and no one knows who quite to listen to.”
Doesn’t sound good. Fortunately for all parties involved, it looks like the trade of Boogie is a matter of “when,” not “if.” At 26, Boogie is young and insanely talented, so the Kings should be able to get some serious value for him. Then their legion of wanna be GM shareholders will have a brand new talent to underutilize and mismanage.
