Festus Ezeli joined the Portland Trailblazers after making it to the NBA finals with the Golden State Warriors in the 2015-2016 season. The Blazers hoped that the defensively skilled center could help round out their team and make them serious contenders. So far the big man has yet to play a single game for them this year after undergoing a surgery on his knee in August.
The team had been hopeful that he would be back to game shape relatively quickly after her partook in parts of practice last month on October 18th. However, despite the early optimism, it looks like the timetable for Ezeli’s return is less than certain. His knee has been swelling and paining him and Ezeli did not travel East with the team to Houston for a series of five games.
Portland Coach Terry Stotts let reporters know that Ezeli will be seeking a second opinion on his left knee. Knee issues have been a consistent problem for Ezeli with him having surgery on his right knee that made him miss the entire 2013-2014 season. He has also had surgery in the past on the same left knee that he recently had work done on. Let’s see if he can finally get healthy and cement himself as a long term part of the Trailblazers team.
