Last month, the WWE made history with their first ever women’s match in Hell in a Cell. However, there was much controversy surrounding the finish of the match. According to Wrestling Inc., Vince McMahon was not too thrilled about how it all went down.
According to a WWE creative source via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon believes the ending to Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte at WWE Hell In a Cell did not get over because the finish was messed up, which was blamed on Banks, not because the wrong Superstar won.
Keep in mind, McMahon had changed the finish to the match from Banks retaining the title to Charlotte regaining it. There was much concern about Banks’ injury history after suffering three significant injuries over the last several months. In fact, there were two spots taken out of the match because of those question marks.
Banks was put into a difficult situation having to lose the title not only in her hometown but on a last-minute notice. The finish wasn’t entirely her fault as the table did not give way properly. Banks handled the situation the best she could but it just didn’t work out smoothly.
