With the Undertaker making his triumphant return to the WWE earlier this week on Smackdown Live, it has sparked rumors about a possible WrestleMania 33. There has been much chatter about who will possibly be his opponent for the event. In light of that, Forbes is reporting that the Deadman could face a very familiar face.
With Survivor Series taking place this weekend and The Royal Rumble around the corner, WWE has already appeared to lay the foundation for some of WrestleMania 33′s main events. Topping that list is a potential clash of icons pitting Cena against The Undertaker, a match that “Vince McMahon has wanted to do going back a couple years,” according to WrestlingNewsWorld.com, and one that was originally planned for WrestleMania 32 before Cena’s injury.
Cena had been originally slated to be his opponent at WrestleMania 32, but a shoulder injury prevented that from happening. The two superstars haven’t faced each other in a single’s match in over a decade. It would pit two of the biggest faces that the company has had against each other on the grandest stage.
If some reason that were not to work out, there is also chatter of The Undertaker facing Brock Lesnar, who is responsible for his only loss at the event. The angle to the match would simply be revenge for The Deadman. There are certainly plenty of different possibilities that the WWE can choose from.
