The WWE over the last couple of years has seen the business flounder a bit in terms of tv ratings. It hasn’t exactly drawn the mass appeal that it would have liked compared to previous years. According to Wrestle Zone, this week’s episode of Raw pulled in some huge numbers.
According to ShowBuzzDaily.com, this week’s edition of WWE Raw, featuring a Raw Women’s Title Falls Count Anywhere main event, averaged 3.110 million viewers. This week’s number is up from last week’s 3.002 million viewership average and is the second largest audience for Raw since the NFL season began. The only Raw to draw higher than this week’s show was when Goldberg returned on October 17th, and the show averaged 3.13 million viewers.
This is a huge gain for the WWE moving forward with their ratings continuing to have an upward trend. The return of Goldberg has helped them tremendous in that regard as it has brought a bigger pull to see what transpires with him and Brock Lesnar. What has also aided that effort was the tantalizing anywhere falls women’s championship match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte.
The WWE has continued to take risks with the women’s division and it was worked out for the most part with Banks and Charlotte leading the way. There are now some intriguing storylines in place that could make for some more large numbers in the coming weeks. All in all, the WWE may have some of it’s best weeks in awhile ahead of them.
