Throughout his career, Paul Pierce has developed a reputation for being quite frank about his opinion on anything in the NBA. This has especially proven to be the case with the Golden State Warriors. During a recent interview on Bill Simmons HBO Show “Any Given Wednesday,” Pierce took another blatant shot at the Warriors.
Pierce isn’t alone in this regard as the Warriors had a commanding lead in the NBA Finals. However, a flurry of events that included Draymond Green being suspended for Game 5 and Andrew Bogut’s injury in Game 6 played a major part in the outcome of the series. What should not also be discredited is how dominant LeBron James was averaging a near triple-double with 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. This included two 41-point performances in Games 5 and 6 and a triple-double in Game 7.
As far as Pierce’s career goes, the Boston Celtics did lose a 3-2 lead in the 2010 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. This included mustering a double-digit lead in Game 7 where forcing the Lakers to shoot just 32.5 percent from the field and commit 22 turnovers. In many ways, Pierce had his own shortcomings that are not far off from what happened to the Warriors.
